Film action xXx:The Return of Xander Cage merupakan lanjutan dari film xXx sebelumnya sebuah film yang bercerita tentang aksi kembalinya Xander Cage (Vin Diesel). Setelah dikabarkan meninggal dunia dalam sebuah insiden di film xXx sebelumnya, Xander Cage kini kembali lagi dengan misi rahasia lembaga Eugune Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) untuk menghentikan senjata berbahaya yang disebut Pandora Box.  

Dalam melakukan misi, Xander Cage akan terlibat dalam konspirasi yang mematikan yang menunjuk ke kolusi tingkat tertinggi pemerintahan dunia dan berurusan dengan orang-orang dari Asia dan prajurit yang mematikan bernama Xiang (Donnie Yen).

Dalam film kali ini Paramount Pictures menjanjikan  akan menghadirkan adegan extreme dan beberapa adegan liar yang belum ada pada film sebelumnya. Pada tanggal 16 Agustus 2015, di Teen Choice Awards 2015 (di mana Furious 7 menerima penghargaan untuk Choice Movie - Aksi dan Walker menerima penghargaan untuk Aktor Choice Movie - Action), Diesel mengumumkan bahwa film tersebut akan diberi judul Cepat 8. Pada bulan September 2015, Diesel menyatakan bahwa script telah hampir selesai dan menyatakan minat Rob Cohen, yang menyutradarai film pertama, untuk mengarahkan Cepat 8. Sekarang Dom dan Letty sedang berbulan madu, mereka Brian dan Mia telah pensiun dari pertandingan atau permainan dan ingin menjalani kehidupan yang normal bersama anak mereka. Tapi ketika seorang wanita misterius bernama Cipher (Charlize Theron) datang menggoda Dom untuk terlibat ke dalam dunia kejahatan yang tidak bisa menolaknya dan pengkhianati orang-orang terdekat Dom yang sudah dianggap sebagai keluarganya sendiri. 

Mereka akan menghadapi cobaan yang sangat berat dan akan menguji mereka, yang belum pernah di alami sebelumnya.
